![]() Sometimes you can't delete files but if you replace them with 0 byte empty files with the same name it can prevent the game from crashing. I used to do this to games to remove other unwanted languages and drastically reduce the size of the ISO without taking anything out of the Eng side of the game. Could be a bad ISO too, most ISO's originate from a physical UMD disc (I contributed some to the scene about 15 years ago) but they're not all perfect rips and sometimes the original ripper person can mess with files in the game's data and repackage it with a PSP ISO builder. I've followed a few tutorials on how to set it up to work and I've had no problem getting other system games working with retroarch like psx, arcade, etc. When I try to load up a psp game I get a large white window and then the thing crashes. I doubt that it's your computer specifically but it's possible. Retroarch crashing with PSP games I cant figure out the problem. You could probably combine the two from the internal files of both versions, but that's a bit advanced for this problem (more related to translation of a game).Īlso your specs would help too. If you're in need of JP specific dialogue or text, and in the rare case where the JP rom doesn't load but the EU or US equivalent does. So I tried to play PSP game on RetroArch, I did put the core as well as the asset files under system/PPSSPP folder, however it still doesnt work. I originally thought it was related to this issue. It seems like the program is running because hitting 'f' makes it go from fullscreen to windowed and vice versa and double tapping 'esc' also exits the program. UMD games were still being published and released up until about a year or two ago (mostly Japan only), so new JP PSP title dumps could be a pain but seeing as how Sony themselves haven't updated the SDK in forever, even the releases from the last couple of years are still probably built with 4.xx SDK and shouldn't have any issues.Ĭompatibility is as much about the integrity and quality of the ROM dump as it is the way the game is coded and packaged into bootable media. Launching the program either through Rofi or in a terminal with. JP games seem to suffer more compatibility issues than most but there are a lot more of them compared to EU / NA regions. ![]() ![]() Try different region versions ISOs, sometimes a ULES will work but a ULUS won't or visa versa.
